Yikes! I agree hard to determine exact cause. It can be repaired with a composite ferrule.

It’s not fly related but I thought I’d share. I was asked to build a compact jigging rod that could fit into a fellas kayak storage for sound bottom fishing. No longer than 18” sections. I came up with this fella. Composite ferrule.

My usual go to to start a day on a single hand is a pats with a lightening bug dropper. But I rarely fish single hand. So I usually have a trout Spey. Then it’s an olive bigger in the winter and a soft hackle in the summer

To hell with these new fancy cameras! I still primarily shoot with film and my phone so I might be full of shit. Guys like David Alan Harvey still use thier phone a lot too.
