Did Washington eliminate the weekend day selection for Westside pheasant hunting?

It's been several years since I went hunting pheasant, due to pandemic shutdown. I used to have to pick odd or even numbered weekend days to start hunting at 0800. I don't see that referred to on the WDFW regulations website. Did they eliminate that requirement?

Seeking Real Opinions on Elk Rifles

Remember I said take a good look at the Sauer XT100 Classic? When I got mine, in 6.5 Creedmoor, it shot 1/4" groups at 100 yards straight out of the box, with no tweaking or adjustments. That was with Hornady Whitetail ammo

    Non-Fly Ultralight spinning gear fishing

I got the 5"6" version. It's listed by the manufacturer as "ultralight" and the book I referred to, says to get short rods, like 4"6" to 5"6" for this sort of fishing, to have more precise casting control in tight areas

    Non-Fly Ultralight spinning gear fishing

Found an interesting book on ultralight spingear fishing at the library book sale for 50 cents. Interesting book, but it dates from the early 1990s and the gear recommendations are quite out of date. I'm interested in what modern gear is used for this style now. I'm thinking of using this on...

A really great film with fishing in it

My favorite film about fishing is one called "The Manzanar Fishing Club" It's available from the King County Library system on a DVD. Not sure about any streaming service. It's about guys who were imprisoned in camps during WW2, due to Japanese ancestry. They used to sneak out of the camps...

    NFR 2025 Gardening Growing Thread

I'm on Rose Hill in Kirkland, and I planted my tomatoes today. Warm about 68F. Supposed to be 78F tomorrow. Then colder, but not under 45F, so I think the tomaters are gonna take root

Seeking Real Opinions on Elk Rifles

If you're looking at a rifle chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor, take a good look at the Sauer XT100 Classic. However, I agree the 6.5 Creedmoor might be bit light for elk sized game. My elk rifle is a Kimber-refurbished Mauser 98, chambered in 280 Ackley Improved. But since that's an obscure...
