I did my first wet wade in the sound in flip flops this week. It was painful until numbness took over. The boots are a good call. Mud sucking flop blowouts and oyster cuts are a real hazard out here. I do like the simplicity of shorts though.

Thanks for the reference. I watched this but couldn’t get a needle into the CQS line. I think it has a different type of core. I tried to carve away the outside but couldn’t really differentiate the core from the coating.

Since the Coastal quick Shooter in 6 weight is no longer available, I spliced the head and 3’ of running section of a retired CQS to a Wulff running line. Casts great, and I can hold a bit more line in the air during a false cast. Not sure how long my splice will last.

Fished my local beach on Thursday for maybe an hour and noticed the same thing. It seemed like the smaller fry were in much larger schools.

These are private tide lands, so the laws are a bit different, but you are correct when it comes to recreational harvesting. The shells were returned to the beach though.
