    Deschutes near Redmond

Thank you for the advice; I'll be doing some more research. I have the opportunity mid-April to go down for a day and am planning on checking out some places. I don't imagine the salmonflies/stoneflies are this far upstream?

    Lake Observations

If you're talking about the fly-only lake, it is relatively clear until spring sunshine accelerates algae growth. The pea soup days in recent years have coincided with toxic algae shutdowns. I often wonder during the green-hued situations how far down the limited visibility goes--I'm thinking...

    Pass Lake crayfish

Chuck's Seafood Grotto in Snohomish,(now gone?) used to have a crawfish boil on Fridays. They were quite good. I must confess I did suck a few heads, and they were OK...tasty if you could get past the texture. Good times!

Has anyone fished the Deschutes near Redmond, OR? I'll be there in late May for work but will have afternoons/evenings to explore the local waters. Any info would be greatly appreciated! 😊

    Pass Lake 2-27-26

I was able to escape work early Friday and headed to Pass. The water was still chill but clear, with Goldeneyes breaking the surface sporadically across the lake. The bite was slow. Occasional hits close to bottom; no activity near shore. I finally landed a solid Rainbow quite a distance out...

    Brasshead black leech at Pass

That looks yummy. I'm partial to clear glass beads, which mimic a water bubble clinging to the foodsource.

    Lake Report North Snohomish County

I did. However, most fish were found deeper (10 - 20 ft), or out in the middle down to 10 ft. My fishfinder indicated there were fish in the shallows, but those could have been bass. I have never seen the schools of minnows in the shallows here such as what are found at Pass.

    Lake Report North Snohomish County

I tired of waiting for Pass to open so yesterday I fished my other favorite local lake south of Stanwood. Had it all to myself save one dock fisherman. Water was 51 degrees. Rainbows were plentiful and hard-fighting but not keyed into any one food source or depth/location. 9 to hand at 12-16...
