Starla rear-ended me on 405 in Woodinville 20+ years ago. I always wondered about that (she didn't have insurance). That's my Starla story...

    What are you listening to?

Neil trigger...funny how most vintage fender tube amps sound so good with a les paul. One of the most recognizable sounds ever. That amp rings like a bell.

    What are you listening to?

Not a big pedal guy. I stopped spending money on effects years ago but I have to say I'm tempted to get a BOSS Dimension C Waza. Nails that Steve Stevens 90s compressed chorus sound. I've always loved the Flesh for Fantasy sound.

    What are you listening to?

I had When I graduated from college in 1991, I spent my first paycheck on a US custom shop sunburst fender '62 reissue strat. I then took it to Dale Bluebond on south street in Philly and had it refretted with bass frets and re-radiused and switched to a 5 position pickup. I was a big SRV fan...

    What are you listening to?

Yeah it doesn't sound like a strat, right? 25 Les Pauls was a good guess. But Corgan then was a strat guy and a master in the booth.

    What are you listening to?

Absolutely one of my favorites of that era, but that album was mic'd better. Those guys were playing without a lot of effects. Hot into the mic and largely recorded as a "live" band.

    What are you listening to?

And a bunch of other things. Love how Tones bleeds into Ah Via Musicom 4 years later without missing a beat. For me, Tones is EJ at his best, but knew that long before Cliffs of Dover.

    What are you listening to?

Yep. All the levels are great. You can hear the vocals, the bass, the drums, and a flood of compressed, multi-tracked guitar distortion.

    What are you listening to?

In retrospect, I think the Pumpkins were the best recorded band of that era. The double tracked leads with perfect distortion back track always caught my ear. It reminded me of when I first heard the Boston album -- just a muddier version.
