First BC lake outing of the year 5/10/2025

The picture may not do it justice to the original, but it is doing just fine! Great looking water! I will make it up north one of these days. Shoot I just hope to get out one of these days! I am envious Rex!

    Oros Indicators in Bulk

Got it. I missed that those were painted. Whether it is customizing boats, fly rods, fly boxes, flies, tapered leaders, or indicators...some will see the value and say it is worth it, and others will not understand why we put in the effort. But this is part of what makes the sport fun, and...

Can I just add a new coat of epoxy to old thread wraps?

That is what I generally use anyway. Not sure what I used 15 years ago.

Can I just add a new coat of epoxy to old thread wraps?

Thanks everyone. I will ponder a bit, but am leaning toward fishing it this summer (if I ever get out) and rewrapping next winter. I will report with before and after pics if I recoat. Mike

Can I just add a new coat of epoxy to old thread wraps?

Yeah I certainly don't want the football look due to epoxy buildup, but on most of the wraps the thread grooves are visible where the epoxy fully soaked into the thread. It is just hard to see that detail in the pictures. That buildup is one reason why I would potentially choose to cut off...

Can I just add a new coat of epoxy to old thread wraps?

Friends, I pulled one of my first rod builds out of its case last night after maybe 15 years, because I want to use it more this summer, and laughed at how bad the thread wraps were. They aren't bad enough to cut off and rewrap, but I kind of want to refresh it a bit. What would happen if I...

The other option I have done with these is to switch them up by unscrewing them and then you can mix-n-match halves. So I have white/orange, white/pink/, green/orange...the multicolor is just easier to catch after I look away and then look back and try to find it again. No different than many...

    What's your favorite console fish/depth finder/charter thingy?

I agree. I went with a 5" on my last purchase and really wish I would have gone with a 7". In the store and holding something right in front of me or looking at a demo on the shelf a 5" seems like more than enough. But then I get out in the sun, and I am standing up, maybe a few feet away...

    NFR Truck tires?

I have Falken Wildpeak AT/3W on my Tacoma and like them. But the most significant change was I ran KO2s on my 4Runner for a long time. Other than fresh rain, I liked them and thought they were great. But when I switched to Pinza AT from Les Schwab if felt like I got an entirely new suspension...
