7-9 today. More unclipped fish showing for sure. Highlight of the day, seeing a gear (herring) fishing buddy hook and land their first adult salmon on the fly. He put in a good number of hours this season and it paid off for him today.

This is my favorite salty SRC fly. Tie some up for rivers and see how they fish. I bet they will work. I’ve caught bass, lake stockers, and tailwater New England trout on them for fun as well 🤣.

It can help when those situations arise, but I think the best use for it when coho fishing is spot locking on a rip you want to fish. Though drifting those can be very productive too. The bow mount gets deployed more frequently for SRC than coho for me. Great to have though for when you need it!
