The 14wt was NOT overkill. That said pretty sure I would've hooked more casting if Id switched to the 13wt. Not that it mattered. My arms were toast after the first 3.

Wow, thanks. Just started down the rabbit hole of herbal remedies. Been using nettle tea for a while now as an anti-inflammatory. Not quite ibuprofen, but definitely helps. There's plenty more growing in a soggy spot but not whacking through devil's club to pick some.
