    NFR Need New Desktop

I was paged. Currently busy trying to prep for some ocean fishing. Lots of knowledge already laid out. I'll do my best to help when I get back to a computer. Not much for going into deep dives on my phone. I admittedly ditched Adobe creative suite a few years ago and don't use Mac or Windows...

FS ECHO EPR 9' 12wt - for your offshore pleasure (and more!)

This went on a lot of boat rides to the tuna grounds since 2019 and has seen some fish. Great working condition with a bit of boat rash on the bottom section. It's only being sent to a new home to help pay towards my custom glass 12wt I just had built. Will ship for an extra $15

What Country Have You Visited and Want to go Back to?

Like you, I'd put China at the top of the list. My trips were all too brief but definitely left an impact. I think the average American would be absolutely flabbergasted at how advanced their cities are.

Waders - The awesome, the bad, the leaky

@Josh has used the waist highs and I believe wrote a gear review about them.

    Suggestion needed

Could be donated like the above. Or I'm sure you could find a buyer for it. I'm sure if you took the time to get a value estimated you could find interested tyers on the classifieds.

I truly don't understand the physics of fly line backlashes

    Always. Everything else is by-catch.

I truly don't understand the physics of fly line backlashes

It's from a spool of Rio standard backing I've had for years. I think you're on to something though. There's a lot of posts saying the backing is loose/twisted, but this reel has never touched a fish, and most certainly never had the backing off the reel since being filled up. It's been used...

I truly don't understand the physics of fly line backlashes

Worst I had ever had as well. Fresh gelspun backing and a new 500gr sinking line has been installed.

I truly don't understand the physics of fly line backlashes

I kept cutting backing until things freed up. Had a pile of backing pieces at my feet. How and why I had to cut like 100ft of backing off when there was still 50ft of running line on the reel is beyond me. I'm convinced there's a new and unstudied branch of quantum physics that exclusively...

I truly don't understand the physics of fly line backlashes

Been spending about the last thirty minutes trying to get this line off a reel. Only thing this line has been used for is casting to and not catching coho on the Columbia River. Hasn't seen anything strong that'd dig it into itself. No super fast runs from a pissed off fish that would backlash...

    OFFICIAL 2026 NFL SEASON DISCUSSION

Rams I get.... But Bills and Ravens? Maybe just an attractive bet but no way either of those teams pulls it off. I still think we're in a very NFC-dominant situation.

Waders - The awesome, the bad, the leaky

Not so much a rumor. They absolutely made Patagonia. Last I heard, Patagonia was moving away from them though. I believe Patagonia waders are now made in Vietnam, but I don't have all the details.

Albacore tuna charter, Tuesday, 1 September 2026

Very true - I had a day last year where I had an almost full box of fish, so went to casting for them with the fly rod. I'd have the other two jig rods with fish on, and the fish were just swiping at my fly and not committing. Troll - it may be the most effective thing in the spread.

Waders - The awesome, the bad, the leaky

40 trips a year for 3yrs on a pair of budget waders is actually really good.

Didn't even know they made waders

Waders - The awesome, the bad, the leaky

I personally haven't purchased a new set of waders in almost 10yrs. Given my fishing tends to be more boat-centric, and less in the winter every year, I just haven't had the need to have my ear to the ground since my G4z pair, despite being nearly a decade old, still keeps me dry. But who...
