Really does. It'd hurt a little less if I just knew for sure what it was and got a glimpse of it. I was so, so close to being within range to see it, too :(

I posted about it in another thread, but we had to chase mine. It was on a very beefy trolling setup and almost spooled the reel a few times. Had it probably within 50' (but still in chase) when another boat cut us off because some dumb captain had to come over for a closer look. Broke off...

Niiiiiiiiiice. I went out Saturday on my boat, likely way south of where you guys were. Not a great day in the area I was at. Lots of boats pulling blanks entirely. We ended up with 9 in the box, and lost 9 others, plus a lost mystery fish we're 90+% sure was a striped marlin.

There were multiple marlin hooked/landed on Saturday in the area I was fishing, so I'm fairly convinced that's what I had.

My trip Saturday: I hooked something that may have been a Marlin. Never saw it but we had to chase it for a while. Another boat who was coming in for a look basically cut us off and kept from being able to keep chasing and it broke off. Never jumped but came up from the deep a few times and...

Just made up this organizer caddy thing that pops into the rod holder mount on my Burnewiin cutting board. Hopefully a few less bait knives and other dodads get lost going forward.

Finally got myself to a garage sale. Picked this lot up for $80. Could re-sell the reel alone for double that! But it's already rigged and ready to fish my next tuna run :ROFLMAO: - also, may never need to buy salmon hooks ever again.
