Same here , have used their warranty to repair a couple rods now , probably in the past 20 years . One the XP as said had it repaired three times , I was a bit rough on it .Since the last repair I have taken a bit better care of it ,being one of my favorite rods.

I was a little surprised they couldn't repair the VXP , but would much rather have this Sonic 696 thats coming instead . I would bet they would still fix the XP , mine was pretty old the last time it got fixed .

I can see your frustration being local ,but I found the process pretty simple being hundreds of miles away . Talking to them on the phone ,they were very cordial ,and helpful as far as what is going to happen , in my case it's most likely going to be a different rod ,but either way I am okay...

Doesn't sound like too bad of turnaround this time of year . It's been two weeks so far with me , I would think if it's a different rod I'd get it shipped not long after they look at my rod ,and determine it can't be fixed , no parts . I wish it would be $70 ,but my rod being older is $195 .

Although it feels pretty unnatural , after awhile doing a lot of casting ,I'll switch hands casting, I can cast with my right , give my left a rest.
