    Beetlejuice

Excellent, that’s one chewed up fly! It’s funny how sometimes a bug will continue to work even though it looks nothing like it did originally. I’ve had that experience also. Beautiful fish, thanks for sharing.

Fly Fishing Film Tour in Walla Walla on Oct 19

I saw this earlier in the year when it was in Cody. Pretty cool stuff, plus, going to these types of events helps support the sport. Well worth your time.

    Finally getting some Fall temps

Those are Yellowstone cutthroat, I’ve caught a couple that looked that way in my several trips to the Park. I call them dolphin fish! 😆

    Finally getting some Fall temps

This is what happens if you shake it too much! 🤪

    Finally getting some Fall temps

Hit it again this morning for a couple hours before the wind blew me off. No pictures or details, as I don’t want to piss off Scotty anymore than I already have. Only thing I’ll say is the biggest was bigger than yesterday’s. 😁

    Finally getting some Fall temps

This is what happens when you “cup” them! This is what they do if you “hold” them.

    Finally getting some Fall temps

Actually of the two I fish regularly, the deeper one cooled first. I think a lot has to do with the location and the amount of wind it gets. The area of the hike in lake is known for cold wind. Here’s what a 50 mph cold wind did to the shoreline and the lake wasn’t frozen.

    Finally getting some Fall temps

Not that I’m aware of. They do have some tigers in there. I think they are fazing out the browns, last year I was getting about 20% browns and tigers with the other 80% being rainbows. This is the first brown I’ve gotten all year and I fish this lake pretty regularly in the spring and fall.

    Finally getting some Fall temps

Went back out this morning to the nearby C&R lake and was pleasantly surprised to find the surface temperature had dropped to 55 degrees. So, I fished for about three hours, had nine quality fish and a couple small 12-14 inch ones. Most were in the 18-19 inch range, fought well and swam off with...

    Over thinking it.

Those aren’t chironomids, they are “hairless leeches”. 😆

    Finally getting some Fall temps

We’ve been having a late summer around here and I’ve been waiting to hit my local lakes until they cool a bit. Last week the night temps started dropping so I did a couple exploration trips to “test the waters”. The C&R lake close to home had a surface temp in the mid 60’s so I only hit it for...

SOLD SA Concept LA 5/6 Reel w/ line

This is an older SA Concept large arbor reel. It’s in great condition. I used it a few times for searun cutthroat when I lived on Whidbey. Always washed the reel and line after use. Comes with a custom made shooting head line that works well with a 5wt (possibly a 6wt also). Not much searun...

    SOLD Garmin Striker 4 SOLD

This is a well taken care of Striker 4 with a Fish Finder Mounts strap mounted transducer mount. The unit works great and the mount has lots of adjustment to make it fit your boat. Have run it on my Scadden Outlaw Renegade and my Outcast Stealth Pro and it works great. Has the ability to stay...

Lahontans at a N. Central WA Lake 5/31/2024

Great report and pictures. If it’s the lake I’m thinking of, I noticed the same thing last time I fished it, about the silvery fish being great fighters and the colored up ones not so much.
