Maybe others can relate, but, if I want to learn a new technique, I have to leave my other rods on shore, otherwise I'll give up and default back. Then I catch nothing for the day because I keep switching back and forth. That's the indecisive in me.

I think the only time I was ever checked I was fishing in an Alpine lake with bait. (way before my fly fishing days). He checked everyone in our party. He was polite. There were a few times, I probably should have been ticketed for my ignorance, but, they were never around.
