Things you know now that you wish you did back then

Interesting you mention RMNP, because we have great friends from Rochester, NY who have retired in Ft. Collins and every time we visit we drive up along the Big Thompson and on to the Park. Might be on the horizon with our grandson.

Trolls, shitposters, and vandals: Lend me your ears.. I mean eyes

Only problem for me is one or more friends I want to fish with are still over there and have not accepted my invites to come here. Need to check in occasionally for DMs to make fishing plans, but that is about it.

    Winter Olympics Watch...

As a broken down old ski bum I love the Winter Olympics, but NBC's audio mix is so bad I can only take about 5 minutes. The boat has been parked since Thanksgiving, so going to pick it up today and start prepping gear instead of yelling at the TV.

Things you know now that you wish you did back then

And yet at almost 71 I still am having a hard time leaving my work completely. This amazes me, but I will find out this summer what retiring is all about. I have a 10 year old grandson who is counting on me.

    NFR Lamprey Rescue thread starter

As a native Upstate New Yorker where I fished Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River and lampreys are an invasive species, the thought of rescuing them makes me say, wait what? In the Finger Lakes where I grew up a lot of effort and expense was applied to keep them out. Treatment, I think...

    Yak SM float recommendations?

Check these guys out => http://www.worleybuggerflyco.com/. I've not used them, but know they run spring bass trips on the lower river. Another reason a guide is a good first time trip is to measure time and distance. I live in Richland and have fished the lower river (below Horn Rapids)...

We Got These Shad Comin' In

On the flip side...This fall when the Shad fry were in the Snake the bass were a sucker for a pearl fluke. This year I'm going after them with a comparable streamer.

We Got These Shad Comin' In

Before we start screaming the sky is falling..."However, less is known about how the shad boom might affect native salmon and steelhead runs, Epifanio said." And this brilliant statement: "“At a gut level, with millions of adult fish running up the river, how can they not have an impact on the...

Please keep in mind (quick note)

I tried that when it first happened to me and the uploaded photo was still rotated 90 degrees to the left from the original.

Please keep in mind (quick note)

Thanks, I'm having the same issue. Some rotate and some don't. Thinking the ones that don't were taken with a point-n-shoot camera and the rotating ones with my phone.

stoke - pics that make you wish you were there?

There was a large cutthroat in a bucket against the ledge rocks on the far bank. Missed it with a premature set on its rise to an elk hair caddis.

NFR - Stickin’ it to the Man!!!

Welcome to the new joint! Hope all is well with you. Working on my final projects and will probably cut the cord by the end of June. At 71 it is probably time. Never thought it would be so hard to retire.

I don't either and would love to change mine. I am loving the new site and a clean "Ignore" list. Hoping to keep it short like my last one.
