    Wiggle Action Disc.....for trolling.

I tried it once and wasn’t impressed. But I was rowing my pontoon or using the flippers. A guide friend with a power boat says it works pretty good.

There Thursday. Looks like the beginning of an algae bloom which will shut everything down until it clears Even the Brookies quit biting. Hope I’m wrong about this.

I’ve been fishing that lake on and off since the 90’s. There used to be lots more aquatic vegetation and the Callabaetis hatches were heavier used to last 2 hours. When I row out there, I see the bottom barren and pockmarked with little depressions from our anchors. Are we adversely...

Lake fishing - leashed or unleashed?

That’s exactly what I used to do and it worked great with small fish. When I lost the rod, I was fishing a full sinking line in 25 feet of water. It was close to opening day and the lake I was fishing was stocked with jumbos. The drag setting was rather heavy and I was using 3x tippet. On...

About 28 years ago my daughter caught her first fish there- a 15” brown trout. I don’t know why they put browns in there. But once it warms up a clever fellow in a tube might try tossing streamers or muddlers at the shoreline. Worked 30 years ago. It’s an interesting little lake. Like a...

I think I spoke with you earlier at the lake on the top. The lake below is named Knuppenberg and was stocked with 1000 tiny brown trout. It’s a general regulation lake and bait is allowed. The brookies probably came out of the stream. No bass up in that country.

Rickards Callabeatis Nymph Hook: Daiichi 1550 size 14 Tail and wingcase: Wood duck Rib: small gold Wapsi wire Dubbing: Hare’s Ear Hackle: size 16 grizzly Comments: The directions call for the wire to be wrapped under the wingcase but that results in a fly that is not durable. The wingcase...

First visit to Mtn FF only Lake on the Mtn this Yr

I’ve been there four times (but not on weekends) and haven’t seen anyone using gear. There is no Ranger. The campground is maintained by employees of the ski area and they take care of the fee collection. Any enforcement would be done by game wardens or Forest Service commissioned employees...

    Ice Dub

Anyone have any effective materials using this material? Any tips for dubbing with it? Most success I’ve had has been with dubbing loops.

The #16 bead head Pheasant Tail has been effective lately under an indicator in lakes.

    I like Ants

If you see me there soon you can ask. I’ll be the guy with an ant pattern on the leader.

    What's in your vise?

I’ve used that fly around Y2K around Merritt BC. The traveling sedges emerge and stick their wings forward like that to dry them while really big trout come up for dinner. Peterhope Lake I believe.

    Spinner Blades on Flies?

I’ve tied the same sort of stuff that Norm did but never had useful results on anything but the pistol petes and the pistol pete buggers.

    Spinner Blades on Flies?

I’ve tied a bunch of pistol petes on tmc 5262 #8 for cutthroat. Those work really well with one 1/8 brass bead behind the propeller.

CA Seals and Sealions eating all of WA Springers?

Matt Good try but none of that data is relevant with regards to what they might be eating at the hatchery pool by the Barrier Dam. Sturgeon occur but are rare. I don’t believe that there are any lamprey. Most of the Springers are still in the Columbia. There are some leftover winter...
