I may be wrong, but I think the magic eraser may be open cell, which would absorb water.

I've been using a hole punch to make boobie eyes from Dollar Store flip-flops. I trim to length with scissors, then use a dremel cup to neatly round the ends. The flip-flops come in a variety of colours. A leather hole punch set is about $10 on Amazon and gives you a range of sizes.

If ordering the shrink tubing, 30 mm works well on the aluminum tubing (.840" dia). You cut it to exact length, as it only shrinks in dia.

Good idea for a lower grip. Here's a pic a customer sent me, with some pretty cool add-ons: a lower locking bicycle grip and added black shrink wrap to the rest of the sections. Except for a few, I've built all my own rods. I know enough to not even think about building bamboo, as that's an artistry way above my abilities.

I store my rods on dowell peg racks in my fly tying room (with another rack in the garage) to avoid tying up floor space.

Canada post requires proof (13 character code) that tariffs have been prepaid before they will accept parcels for shipping. UPS, Fedex and Purilator collect tariff on delivery, but more than double cost.

Cleaning: Yes, but I'm not sure stretching the lines before storage will do anything...stretching before use after storage...Always. When I fish in the salt, I rinse the lines/reel/rods every time in fresh water and run through a dry cloth back onto the reel.

Agreed re Canada post..need to end home delivery to survive.

Have only been using Canada post, as UPS, FedEx and purilator are nearly double the cost and add a hefty "customs brokerage fee" to the receiver upon delivery.

Old Fishing Buddy I recently re-discovered an old neighbour and fishing buddy that, due to my job transfers, hadn't seen in over 30 years. We reconnected when I saw his name attached to a boat-for-sale ad. We were close back in the day, sharing the same warped sense of humour that had our wives...
