Spring trip. But more of a blast/ cast/ blast. Killed a great Tom the first night. Struggled finding birds for the next couple days. Did some driving, switched to fly rod for two days. Caught some pike on a fly. Back to turkey hunting some new public, and ended up shooting a younger bird. TSS...

Been a tough winter for fishing. Weather/ temps have been difficult, lots of river ice. I was hoping to have some " flexible" time this winter but ended up framing on a custom which kept me busier than planned. Haven't fished since the first week of January. Getting cranky after four months...

Stayed in a rental on Cocollala. Nice lake. But be aware, the train noise is CRAZY...tracks follow East shore. There ARE bass. 😉

Actually, I avoid the spawn. Generally the fish are too distracted to bother with. They are actively spawning not feeding with all the commotion.
