    Adult damsels? Need help!

A good friend of mine got into a heavy damselfly scene that he dominated with a Carey Special I made for him. He lucked onto a nymph he was able to do a side-by-side comparison with the Carey. It was a near dead ringer.

    NFR What Are You Drinking?

It's probably much better than you might think. I had this red rice beer from either Kyoto or Hitachino that was totally bomb. Hitachino's "Nest" (look for their very cool baby owl logo) is also a very good craft beer.

    Seattle Area Trout Spots

I need to add that Green Lake has a couple of docks you can fish from to solve the backcast vs people issue. If you don't catch anything, at least you got to practice your casting technique. If you want to improve your chances of catching fish, learning how to double-haul cast for distance...

    Pass Lake Dry Flies?

The first time I saw Tim Lockhart, he was using an small Adams to target a specific trout that was consistently rising in one location. It took him a while of waiting between rises and casts, but he brought to hand what I recall was a 20" brown. My preference in stillwater dry fly patterns...

    Leech Lake Newb

Shawn, where did you find them? I did notice some weird looking “pebbles” at the boat launch. BTW, which day(s) were you at the lake? I fished Wednesday and Thursday (today). I’m heading home in the morning. If you’re wondering which angler was me, I was the most poorly dressed one...

Nice seeing you again, Lue. Long time no see! I was surprised and pleased it was you. The only familiar face since I arrived.

Sure looked like it. Nice bunch of guys who obviously knew what they were doing. Should’ve seen them when the bite turned on. They were ready, willing, and able.

Dude! That looks horrible! Were you that guy who posted the wet wading selfie on Google? You sure looked like you were having a good time out there doing the Jesus Christ pose. Little did you realize at the time, it was a self fulfilling prophecy.

Perhaps I should have requested PM/DM replies to keep others from tossing gas on a dropped match? But, really. When newbing water that’s more than a 3 hrs drive from where a person lives, the initial question is innocent enough. As a friend who fished there once told me, and as others have...

Thanks, Wayne! I can grasp what you’re saying about how to keep that pattern at that kind of depth range: Leech’s bottom is right there. Cool! Right on. Thanks! Freakin’ shallow!

🔥. I have my abundant stash of my own ties of those flies. People under-appreciate the power of that pattern. I’ve caught more trout on that one than any other.

Because of “factors,” I see myself showing up on Tuesday or Wednesday. Definitely hoping for an improving weather forecast. Any suggestions on flies to bring? From what I’ve seen in the lowlands, damselfly season is upon us. A good friend of mine did well with matching that hatch, two or so...
