    Playing Live Music 2025

I’ve had a nice string of gigs this summer and the last two were great examples of what makes it worth doing. Outdoor spaces in the summer playing for people who are out looking for a good experience. Good vibes are at a premium and it’s nice to interact with folks in that manner.

Driftboat trailer - how important is a roller in the back

+1 for the roller being very helpful. It greatly reduces effort during launch and retrieve.

    Prowler Float Tube

@Billy the Prowler users don’t want to be shamed for investing in good equipment! :ROFLMAO::rolleyes: But seriously, what are the options for a rugged and packable tube for a bigger-framed person who fishes a lot? Outcast, SuperCat, ??

    Coffee talk

Test batch success! This is some primo Ethiopian coffee if you like a blend of chocolate and ripe berries. I stopped the roast at the very beginning of second crack.

Not a Yellowjacket…any guess? It came off the grill of my truck. Probably about 1” long

    Yellowjacket equinox

Seems like my efforts to trap Yellowjacket queens was fairly successful. I see the occasional drone around my yard and not many in my traps. I’ll re-bait this weekend to be prepared for August and September.

    Yellowjacket equinox

The paper wasps come out early in Central WA and try to setup their wee nests in my doorways, eves, deck chairs, grill, etc. I remove the nests in my immediate path but leave most of them alone.

    Non-Fly trout?

I almost forgot about Bingo Bugs. I bought a dozen at the Sportman’s Show when it was in the Kingdome. Same concept as a small flatfish. My first trip to Dry Falls was in the 90’s…I fished spin gear and a Bingo Bug was my go-to trolling lure at the time.

    Non-Fly trout?

In addition to everything already mentioned, a 1/32 oz crappie jig can be good. Cast to weed edges and other structure, let it sink and hop it back. They also work trolled for whatever reason. I used to fish ultralight spin gear quite a bit.

    Coffee talk

Weak coffee won’t do! I roast 4.0 oz of green beans, grind with my Encore to size 20, add to the French press along with 3.25 cups of cold water. Let it soak on the countertop for 16-18 hours or in the fridge for 24. Press and enjoy over ice. I get about 24 fluid ounces, which for me is three...

    Full sinking line recommendations?

The SA Sonar full sink lines have a textured patch at ~20’ that is fairly subtle, but can serve as a hang marker. On a real quiet day I hear when that part of the line contacts the tip-top guide. Or notice it in my hand when retrieving. I really like how that line fishes.
