    Bread Thread

You sure that math is correct? My standard boules and loaves are about 500g flour - your 80g would be about 1 slice of bread.

    Lake/camping RECS in BC interior?

Can anyone suggestion a lake (or river) with camping located in BC (or NE WA?) within hours of Penticton/Kelowna/Revelstoke/Nelson that has semi decent fly fishing and beach/shore access for a family With young kids? I’d have a canoe ForFishing. Ideally it would have clean water, fir or pine...

    Heaven On Earth…

Gotta be last summer's photos, with no snow on Librarian's Ridge or the rest of Mac. Don't go throwing too many hints out there! Doesn't get better than the October Caddis hatch and big takes on hoppers/stimulators.

    Tubin’ Central WA 10th Annual

If this is the 'windy/dirty' lake I think it is, I fished it last week with my kids and we did pretty well for smallish rainbows during midday, mostly olive streamers and BH nymphs. Nothing of great size and no browns, but maybe if we'd stayed 'til dusk...

    Just over a month out...

Anyone happen to know if the gate at the Ancient Lakes trailhead (NE corner of this map. Not the lower TH) is locked or open? It was locked in the fall, but I thought I recalled reading it was usually open in the spring.

Methow River opens for steelhead, first time in 9 years

Nice work on that Chinook! Still sounding pretty "Meth-how" though... :ROFLMAO:

Methow River opens for steelhead, first time in 9 years

Congrats on the fish! Before you make your video about this outing - get Leaf to explain how to say "Methow" and "Mazama" - I winced while listening to it in your video from fishing at nearby B*** Lake.

    Methow Steelhead Opening 2024

So much pre-opening hype, but then not much news. Anyone have a sense of how the fishing was?

Thank you all for avoiding political/election debates here on PNWFF...

I stumbled onto this forum a few months ago after recently renewing my long dormant interest in fly fishing and you guys and gals may not know how good you have it with this cool forum. Maybe it's a function of the older age skew of fly fishers, and people being more wise and civil and not...

Chunky rainbows in a small seep lake 11/5/2024

Great soft light picture, Rex. What percent of the time on your trips to East and Central WA lakes do you use a dry?

    Clear-your-head weekend fishing destination?

in total I probably fished for 10-11 hours over two days. Had 1 fish to hand and maybe (3?) bites over any hours before ~4pm (pre DST switch) and had probably 30 bites and ~16 to hand combined both days between 4-5:30pm.

    Clear-your-head weekend fishing destination?

I've hit up a hike-in basin lake a couple times in the last few weeks, one day cloudy and one day sunny. Both days I had 90% of my action and saw 90% of rises in the final 90 minutes of daylight. Maybe this is anomalous, but anyone else have his pattern?

SFR Confessional: I kinda hate November

I think it's a pretty standard view that NOV is the worse month in the NW. March can stink too. No backpacking No Dayhiking No Climbing No much gardening or yard stuff to do or be rewarded by Poor fishing No Skiing Bad biking Generally 35 and raining.

    First Snow

Do you find that these high lake fish just kinda shut down in hibernation mode by early autumn? It's been my experience, but maybe not universal.

    Methow Steelhead Opening 2024

Got a text from a non-fly-fishing friend this morning who was driving up the Methow to work, knew I fly fished, and texted me about seeing "over 100" fly fishers while going up the river from Pateros this morning. Sounds like it's a zoo. Hope the fish are biting.

    Alpine Lakes Extravaganza

As a teen I was obsessed with fly fishing, and I even built rods and tied flies to sell at the small craft store in Stehekin where I worked in the summers. I mostly quit fly fishing for the past 20 years, but with my own kids now and a home in Leavenworth, I've found a renewed passion for the...

Anyone have an empty Lamson Liquid Spool and a scale?

Thanks! Yeah I see the 5+ “remix” for $115 on sierra, and a couple spools on eBay for $80 - the seller didn’t know their size though, but they are supposedly 3 5/8” across.

Anyone have an empty Lamson Liquid Spool and a scale?

Thanks, highly appreciated. If you hadn't used it in years or looked at it in years, any chance you'd want to sell it?

Anyone have an empty Lamson Liquid Spool and a scale?

Thanks - I think the old "2" size is the same as the "5+" size that they advertise for 4/5/6 wt lines. Is it, by chance, 3 5/8" outside diameter?
