Blue painter’s tape. The 1”, cut in 1/2 lengthwise. Easy to see and remove. I mark my spey rods at 30” and trout rods at 20”. Any over or under those lengths can be easily measured by with of my hand, 4”.

Beautiful! Water conditions look very similar to the Kenai last I fished it; 2nd week June running at 4500 cfs iirc, 140% of normal. Once I switched to a full intermediate sink line with a 6 or 7 ips tip it started producing. I’d guess you’re fishing down and dirty….

These are great rods. I have the 9’6” in 6 weight, my favorite bigger water/light steelhead rod. If I didn’t have a similar 8 I’d grab this.
