An elder friend of mine is outfitting a used DB he bought and is considering an extra pulley on his anchor for ease of lifting. Seems like these double ropes want to twist and jam. Will be used in rivers and some mild lake fishing too. Thoughts? PS. I searched but didn't find a thread on this...

Point Wilson was perfect yesterday, except for fish. Gorgeous day and not too much wind. Some friendly gearchuckers with advice for the fly flinger too. What a wonderful park! I fished 2-3 hours without seeing anything caught and no jumpers.

Well dang it, not looking good for shore fishing. The creel reports show some pinks at the Ediz Hook ramp but none further east. Ediz doesn't look very wade friendly at high tide. The very tip is not accessible due to CG Airstation? Does it make sense to go to Point Wilson with no pinks...

So I looked at the tide tables and they are rather odd. I've never seen a tide chart like these with no second low tide. There is low in the morning, it comes up in the afternoon...and just keeps going up??!! Thanks a lot Obama!

I have several Airflo sinking lines and really appreciate the non-stretch. Especially for slow presentation like with a hover line. My type 7 is the best casting fast sink line I have ever owned. Easy to cast, minimal tangles and gets down and stays down. I like 'em!

Yes, very observant of you. Phil twists the tail maribou into a rope then adds a drop of resin. Watch the end of the Lion's Mane vid. He sez it gives the tail another pivot point...but it also keeps the 'bou fibers together like a skinny nymph tail instead of all waving around seperately. Cheers

My dry damsel game is weak. I tried one several times to active fish but nada :confused: Agree on the skinny ties and not too big either. For a nymph I like this Phil's Lion's Mane pattern or I combine it with an articulated wiggle tail.
