    Reliefband - Does it work?

It's the ginger version that my wife takes. Thanks for clarifying.

    Reliefband - Does it work?

There's a product called Gravol that is sold in British Columbia, and maybe the rest of Canada. My wife says it works for her, and she is very susceptible to motion sickness.

    River Coho Thread 2024

@the_chemist - Thanks for a great couple of days fishing with you! That accident was crazy. Why would someone try to pass on the left when someone is turning left? Signals on and double yellow line. Geez. But it didn't wreck our fishing! Another notch in the legend of the badass 4runner. Ya...

Lost 2 G Loomis Rods and Saracione Reel in Sea-Tac

FYI, I once lost a rod at SeaTac, but had fortunately put a business card inside the tube. I eventually got a call from one of the thrift stores, I think in Bellevue, that benefits Children's Hospital. Apparently SeaTac often sends lost things there when they can't find the owner. So you might...

    Scott GS 84/3?

I have a 3 wt. Winston WT, and it feels like a 1 wt when I'm fishing it. Great rod. Also, the Winston Pure's are on sale now. I have an 8' 4wt that is a really sweet rod. There are a couple of 3 wts in the Pure lineup.

    Edge Fly Rods mini review

Well, this has been an interesting discussion! Consensus seems to be that rods fish nicely (I like the blanks), although the workmanship is subpar. Service is not what I would expect from any company, regardless of price point, although all of my interactions via email were respectful, if not...

    Edge Fly Rods mini review

I bought a couple of Edge Rods (https://edgerods.com/) last year and have finally fished with both. Thought I’d provide my thoughts here. Both are Archetype models; a 1267 Spey and a 907 single hander. The Archetype series is their basic fly series with cork grips. Edge sells two higher end fly...

    Montana Alternatives?

If you go to Vancouver Island, the Cowitchan is closed through August. Make sure that you check the regs wherever you go. The entire Skagit is open in BC after some closure for a few years following road washout.

    Deals at online Retailers

Yeah, don't order a rod if you need it for an upcoming trip. Everyone that I communicated with at Edge was very nice, but they are super back-ordered. Fly rods seem to be an afterthought. Focus is on the gear fishing crew.

    Deals at online Retailers

I've purchased two of these rods, a 7wt Spey and a 7 wt single hander. The spey rod took about 4 months to be delivered and the single hander took about 7 months. Both have rod socks but no tubes, although Edge has promised to send the tubes some day. I'm not a great spey caster, but I can fire...

Good polarized sunglasses in the $50 range?

I use the LL Bean glasses. Slightly more than $50 but I've had a couple pair for at least five years and they get used a lot. Plus, they have magnifiers. https://www.llbean.com/llb/search/?freeText=polarized+bifocal+sunglasses&init=1

    Trash Anglers

Not to mention all of the raw sewage coming out of Tijuana and into the sea immediately south of San Diego. My son is a US Marine Raider and they were training in that (literally) crap. Navy SEALS do the same.

    Trash Anglers

Hi all, A fishing buddy of mine just shared this site. I suspect that most of us collect trash from the streams we fish. This site is logging the positive impact made by anglers who help to improve the environment on the waters they fish. Brilliant Idea. https://trashanglers.org/ Steve

Cabela's brands: World Wide Sportsman brand fly rods and White River waders.

Maybe 20 years ago, I ordered a 6 wt reel from Cabela's to use as a backup. As soon as I opened the box, it was clear that I had completely wasted my money. Absolute piece of cr*p. I've never been back and never will be.

    What is your Grand Slam?

Two rivers and a lake, all in the same watershed on the west side, over two days: cutthroat, whitefish, pikeminnow, rainbow, brookie, and brown. Plus some sort of salmon smolt, though I'm not sure what species.
