    uHaul van vs. rental car

DIY hunting and fishing trips on the cheap - UHaul box trucks/vans make workable campers. This is a tip someone gave me as I was planning a DIY hunt in Alaska in the coming year or 2.

    Electric Bikes

Bringing this back up... I have been looking into an ebike for some time now. Considered turning my current mountain bike into an ebike by adding a motor. Looked at used ebikes but worried about warranty and getting a burned out motor or dead battery. So last week I found a discount code on...

    NFR Trucks?

I'm a year or 2 away from a truck upgrade. My 2008 Silverado 1500 6.0L VortecMax LTZ quad-cab 4x4 has given me 330,000 miles so far. Various issues over the years, but generally a reliable, comfortable, and capable rig. Handles off-road (hunting and fishing trails) well for a stock truck...

    Butchering your own animal

This is a good article on how to hang and age your venison. I've done it a few different ways, and really hate the hard crust that forms and having to cut off so much meat. Anyone have any tricks for this to save more meat? One approach is the not skin the quarters until after it is aged...

    Butchering your own animal

This is exactly what I came to say. All of it. KitchenAid mixer grinder attachment as well. I steak as much as possible. The rest is burger. I stopped using bacon and pork as it just didn't taste as good after a few months in the freezer. Speaking of grinding burger, cube up in small...

    OMJ get together

Oh, man, I'd love to. Just took a week off for hunting though. If you do anything local to his previous home waters (sky, stilly, snoqualmie area) I may be able to join in.
