Ha! I'm not even sure. Mostly smaller lakes, or if it's a larger lake, I would just be interested in some creek inlets and places like that. I would like to be able to go a couple miles or so on it. Getting there quickly isn't necessarily the goal, but as fast as possible in a river boat.

I'm no expert, but I bought the round stacking type when I was dehydrating for a bit, and I always wished I had the drawer type for ease of use. It's not that complicated, of course, and you can spend a lot or a little, just like everything else. Cheap will get it done though.

Anyone using these shooting heads on your 5 wt., or whatever rod really? Just curious if you've found situations where it helped greatly. I can see it wading on some wider rivers that would be excellent, or in a Watermaster style raft. False casting in a raft on a lake can get old fast for me...
