    Pass lake algae

Great memories fishing openers at Mineral, Clear, and Tanwax as a kid. Yup it was a zoo. Thankfully don't remember any snow. Yikes. Mineral still fishes well and gives up a few browns occasionally which is always fun. Not like the browns at Pass though.

    Pass lake algae

Jim in Anacortes Thanks for taking my comment tongue/cheek. I have feed egg stains on my record going back to mineral lake in the early 1970s. Oh, and winter fishing for Kokanee on American lake with maggots. No, I did not keep them warm in my mouth. Ok, I'm clean now, wait... starting to...

Powerbait ??? You need to see a priest ASAP and request reconciliation (confession). Shoot, if you fished Powerbait more than one time you're looking at a full exorcism. Hah - just kidding

    Bamboo rod failure

Finished filing down the scarf, everything lines up pretty good so applied Tight bond III and zip ties to clamp it down for the curing process. Repair wrap and epoxy coming soon.

    Frankenkara+

Ha - Steve you have been giving me crap about me calling them handles instead of grips ever since he convinced me to build Frankenkara+. Ok, I concede on that one but what's up with the boat color?

Funny story Krusty. So where do fly shops keep the powerbait? Guessing near the fridge with night crawlers

    Frankenkara+

Took months for some crazy guy in a blue boat to talk me into building a Tenkara + rod. Guess that makes me crazy too for accepting the challenge. Found bamboo growing at one of my neighbors. Turned a fir rod handle on my small wood lathe and repurposed snake guides from an old rod, and 25 feet...

    Bamboo rod failure

Bamboo failed just above the scarf. At least it failed on a nice rainbow while I was demonstrating my version of the tuna set. Unfortunately, the fish swam away as I retrieved the rod. Going to try repairing the rod by cutting a new scarf and a solid repair wrap. Might use some ugly thread just...

    Trip interrupted....

Wow Stacy, that is a tough one. Glad you made it home safe. Loved the video with you casting and the train rumbling by. Hope you get to repeat that trip with a better outcome in the future.

    Broken in

Nice looking rod. Love the fully loaded rod picture. I started with one bamboo rod that Steve refurbed for me, now I fish with 3 sometimes 4 bamboo rods. Way more fun than plastic rods. even with all of the crappy casts that I seem to make. Bad habits seem worse on bamboo but hey I catch a lot...

    Lost and Found

It definitely was a good day. I had a great day c&r 33 but watching Steve battle that pig into the net was the high light of the day. I managed to capture 2 pics of that fish before it flipped back into the water
