I think the difference is it supposed to sit a little lower in the water for better loading and maybe a slightly slower swing. I have one its a good Skagit head.

Hey my buddy has a rod that he bought from an outfitter while he was living in Alaska that has a strange feature. Its a 2 piece rod and the guides on the reel side are offset or rotated almost 90 degrees from the reel seat. Is this a design feature for a specific purpose like maybe it helps...

Yep they are solid. I have a 10/11 and 12/13 SA system 2 reels. The 10/11 is really crusty from florida salt. still works great! I use them on my 2 handers now

I have only fished RF in winter time and the weeds weren't terrible. Do the weeds get worse during warmer parts of the year?

Found this big ol lingcod sort of flopping on the beach at low tide. It was way up the beach about 150’ from water. Couldn’t get it back to the water it died shortly after we found it. Crabs are eating now I’m sure!

have you noticed the bottom of the net handle in the middle of your back making the sling uncomfortable? It annoyed the hell out of me when I used a short handle net with the fishpond sling.

I have an old pflueger medalist reel, its in great shape but I am curious what kind of grease I could rub on the parts to keep them nice and corrosion free? I accidentally dunked it while landing a fish on the yak on friday and noticed how wet the inside of the reel stayed. I would hate for it...
