I switched from my chain to a chain covered rubber sponge (?). I use real hot water and lightly scrub away the leftover cooking crud. This keeps my fingers out of the boiling water!

So far I’ve not discovered any drawbacks. Of course, my fly line snagged the thumb tension screw once, but still way better than having the oars inside the boat.

My oars are now hanging OUTSIDE the boat! The small things that get me excited! 😂
