    Lost soles

I fished a couple of these out of the mud this year. I use korkers but these don’t fit anything I wear . Both omnitrac, right foot felt 13-13.5, left foot with cleats mens 8.5-9. Shame to toss them if someone wants a spare for the cost of postage.

    Fillet Knife Recommendations?

Jake , heres what I have been using on coho for the last 20 years. Probably 50-60 / year. Shrade Uncle Henry USA # 167. The older ones were US made if you can find them. I bought a new back up and the blade wasn’t the same, too soft. The USA made are about 3 times the price of the newer model.

Thank You ! Enjoyed that, brought back memories. That can be a difficult hatch to find the sweet spot, but when you do... hogs to the trough.

    Walla Walla Kids derby

There is something magical about kids and bobbers. Watching the bobber disappear below the surface. At 71, I’ve gone full circle with indicator fishing.

Yakutat City and Borough - 1

Thanks for the report ! Didn't make it to AK this fall due to covid so appreciate you taking me there. Hope to get back next fall. Have fished several different places for silvers but not Yakutat. Great looking water with lots of variety. Hard to beat silvers close to the salt.

    Goodnews River Alaska Float

Thank you for the great report! Brought back a ton of memories, I fished the lower Goodnews for a day in Sept 1983. Bristol Bay Lodge had a spike camp on the lower river. Ron McMillan flew our party of 4 there in his Beaver for the day. On his first approach to land on the river he had a bird...

Clarksman, anything still available? No bull trout in Colorado but do have some hefty lake dwellers that would be fun to pass one of these in front of. Beautiful flies, would be fun to try and duplicate some of your work. Thanks, Monte Miller

Enjoyed that! Used to fish for them when I was a kid and actually caught a few on the fly rod. Congratulations on taking a road less traveled. Think I should explore that again myself.

    Bristol Bay

Nice report. I was in that area in 1980, my first trip to Alaska. I was at a lodge and fished multiple drainages. Interesting that your results fish wise were almost identical to mine back then. Nice to know that things haven’t changed much in that area. Hope we can keep it that way for future...
