    Chicken throwing season

May have had a chicken eater today, although it also could've been a big mama smallie. Didn't see it, but sure felt it! I went to a busy lake that has great smallies, but wanted to check out a few new carp and musky spots. The water is a bit high. Weird how just 1 foot in a lake like that can...

    Occupy Skagit, on steroids.

Thanks for citing the RCW Brian. Good for people to read before taking any action. Serious question...is threatened the same as endangered? The RCW specifically uses the word "endangered". No mention of the word "threatened". Note (b) seems to indicate that the decision is with the...

    Occupy Skagit, on steroids.

I'm blurting out a bit, but am willing to walk the walk. Not sure about the ego part. 😁 Sorry if I offended anyone.

GONE- Old Fiberglass 15' drift boat on a Livingston galvanized trailer

Sadly, I took the old Eastside to the dump today. We cut it up into manageable pieces and just dumped it. Cost us $52, which was WAY cheaper than what King County was going to charge to junk the complete boat. It's quite the process with the county and it's flawed. The first issue is they have...

Local morning with the cows and snakes....

Early season Randy gettin' it done! Love all the colors in your pics. Spring in the PNW really is hard to beat. At least when it's not 36 and raining or hailing. 😁

    Occupy Skagit, on steroids.

This has no legal grounds. The inexperienced anglers need to check the regs like everyone else. Me appearing to fish is not legal grounds for them to assume it's open. Just like if I saw poachers fishing and thought "oh, it must be open". I'm guilty of not checking the regs and fishing closed...

    Occupy Skagit, on steroids.

If they're not going to ticket people for throwing rocks into the river, or throwing sticks for their dogs or floating over redds on their SUP, they're not going to ticket us for wading shin deep doing some fancy casts. Especially if the hookless fly (or yarn) is on/in the surface. I could find...

    Nobody died...not even a turkey.

Turkey hunting is the most dangerous type of hunting in several states. Which makes sense because- 1- You can wear camo 2- You shoot heavy tungsten loads using full or modified chokes 3- Turkeys are low to the ground....and so are you. 4- 50% of people that hunt turkeys are idiots!! Why...

    Occupy Skagit, on steroids.

I'm in. I have a bunch of old steelhead and salmon flies I don't use that I can cut the hook off just behind the tail. Can't get a ticket for casting practice right? I'll have the GoPro mounted on my chest. I think this is the only way it gets traction.

    Chicken throwing season

Oh you don't catch anything with these chicken flies. I mean, I hope to catch a musky, but you know.... Well, if you've fished for musky you know. Don't fish for musky. Escape while you can! 😁

    Learning to Row Rivers

First, kudos to you being smart, concerned and willing to listen. Those are good first steps. As one that has done it for many years, but still don't consider myself great (or even good) on the sticks, a raft is definitely more forgiving when things go wrong...which they will. Having said that...

    Nice evening on the local

Oh wow, I haven't fished Battle Ground since I was a kid. I lived in Washougal the first 10 years of my life. My dad and his buddy took us kids there a couple times. I remember it being cold and rainy both times, but we caught fish! 😁 I haven't caught up with Steve, or you, yet. Haven't seen...

Love Severance! It's definitely a bit odd, but my wife and I both loved it.
