I first fished this lake a few years back with the old site member, Fish-n-Fella, and his friend Bob. What a great lake! It would be a shame to have no access.

There is an article on Westland Distilling in today’s Sunday paper. They started in a carport next to our family place on Mason Lake. We got to sample their first batches. I have a few bottles - including Solum & Garryana, and some of their cask condition bottles.

That chickadee is wondering where the heck the suet is hiding.

They are fun to call in response to their call. We seem to hear them early in the morning. They are aggressive. Where a hat if they are around on your walks.

It will always be “the office” but it is really the fishing gear storage building since all the fishing stuff and floating crafts won’t fit at home. Plus, she really doesn’t know what I have....

I’ve got a Cooper’s hawk by my office that hunts the rock doves. I have seen it make a couple of kills and the remains of other kills. Fun stuff.

We are very fortunate to have harlequin ducks at our local beach. The males are incredibly marked and colorful. The female nests on mountain streams and creeks. The females are certainly not as colorful or pretty as the males.

That’s a great list! There a a couple that I always look forward to showing up: band tailed pigeons and black-headed grosbeaks! We had a male rose breasted grosbeak that showed up one year. A real surprise.
