1/1 on the outgoing this morning, biggest of the year so far. Hit 10’ in front of me and took me into my backing by running down the rip. Quite a few coho caught on the beach and a lot of jumpers close in.

Sierra Trading Post has the TFO Axiom 2-X in 6wt, 11wt and 12wt on sale for $200. I really don't need another rod but I picked up the 6wt because I can't resist at that price.

One of my cousins told me that when people got too close to him on the beach he'd start talking to himself psychotically. Seemed to do the trick most the time :ROFLMAO:

Early dinner today was Coho caught a few hours earlier marinated with soy sauce, garlic, lemon juice, and brown sugar, and Zucchini fresh from the garden sautéed with some assorted spices.

1/4 today. Lots of shakers and a few big fish I had on for a second then popped off. I’ve seen a decent amount of big fish jumping close to the beach, especially today. Lots of bait with big fish crashing through it 20 feet out. Had a seal take two shakers off my line. Pretty interesting experience😆

Yup! Didn't switch flies all day.

4/4 today, beach got hot around an hour or so before slack high tide. Lots of pinks and wild coho caught. I kept one pink and one hatchery coho, and let go a pink that I belly snagged (fought like hell 😆) and a pretty good sized unclipped coho.

Lunch was resident coho that was caught this morning. Tossed it in the oven with salt and pepper, and topped it with some lemon and butter. Some of the best eating salmon in my opinion!

Got first keeper of the year in area 10 this morning! Lots of shakers, one other big bite. Lots of 2” baitfish around so I adjusted my fly accordingly and landed the keeper. Great fight lots of acrobatics but he stayed pinned. Perfect conditions: strong tide, overcast, and just a little bit of wind.

Received my lines yesterday! Thank you for the stickers too. They are going straight on my stripping basket

Fished 7-11:30 tons of bait, had probably 20 bites mostly consistenting of 8” salmon nipping tail of my clouser. Landed two 12” coho. Only saw two keeper sized coho hit the beach

I like the cone for the extra weight! I was thinking today about how to add more weight to my big clousers to get them down a bit deeper. I may have to copy your technique.

I've owned a 6wt predator and a 6wt boost blue is my main beach rod at the moment. The boost blue is a little faster and I prefer it over the predator but both are nice rods. I fish the boost blue overlined with a 7wt SA titan int 2-3 and it has no problem launching it and cutting through the...
