Annual trip to Minnesota and Ontario - for some reason, it seemed like the fish were smaller than normal this year, both on the river I fished in MN and the lakes in Ontario... in the lakes, I think the big ones (19-20+) were just hanging out deeper, but that's not very possible on the river so not sure why we didn't find them!

In Tennessee with my 93 y/o parents, I was flyfishing and catching plenty of bluegill and my mom pulled this smallmouth from the area I had just caught a big bluegill. She was using a small rapala type lure. I aspire to still be fishing at 93. About 16 inches.

Some notables from a recent tourney.
Late night smallmouth; this was the best one after dark. Probably around 11pm, casting topwater and listening for the hit. Had to stop because of a sparky storm that blew in. Had quite a light show before it got close, great night.
I had fished all day, took a nap, rolled out of the tent at 8pm, cracked a beer, and caught this guy. Felt like a real bum, it was excellent.
The tourney had a category for fish caught after 10pm; this one hit at about 9:30. Never had much luck with the night fishing until this year; it's a hoot!
