these are rock solid, keep emergency cash and truck handgun in mine without worry. Designed to fit with the console lid closed so no sign it's there. I use the 4 thumbwheels lock, so can drive with it unlocked if neccessary, just a quick run of the thumb over the wheels and it's lockedMy Glocks don't work very well if I'm not there to operate them. Not that I'd ever leave them in the truck.
We do have a "NEW ACCOUNT" banner that's very visible that has helped tip a few members here off when that happens. Best solution we can come up with at the moment90% of scams happen with a WTB ad....
They'll post a picture of what you want and then want you to email them offline
They know a guy or a friend or an uncle that has what you want and you can email them @.....
The 10 post rule does absolutely nothing ......
Pull the picture they sent you on google image and 90% of the time it will come back to an ad that someone posted earlier..
Ask for a phone number for a chat which can still be a scam but does weed out some of them
Driver license are photoshopped too many times to rely on...
If using PayPal never do friends and family as you'll be screwed if they bail on you...
If the ad is too good to be true it probably is....
That lying sack ofOr it is from Mike (Melfa) who lives in N.J.
THIS. Its either too good to be true, or someone is selling stolen goods. If the ad is too good to be true it probably is....
I still get scam emails from there wanting to transfer a large sum of money to get it out of the country. Use to get "Air Mail" letters 20+ years ago. If all that would have been legit, I could have..... Mmm, guess its fill in the blank time.... but I checked their IP address which was coming out of Nigeria.
Most of the scammers seem to try to spoof legitimate member accounts. So definitely something to keep an eye on. Always look for the NEW ACCOUNT badge.@Evan B just reading this thread and I see that my name is used in the scammer message. Just want to set the record straight, I’m no scammer. Ha! I’m located over the hill in Montana and on a few other sites with the same name including WFF, Speypages, and North American FFF, even have a decent marketplace rating. Anyway, thanks everyone who makes this is an interesting place to be on the interwebs. Cheers.

Had one yesterday to myself. Sent a message to you guys.Hey everyone, wanted to give a heads up that we have had reports of a tricky type of scam happening that may succeed if we don't educate our users.
How it works: You post up a wanted ad for something. Someone, usually a new account, will private message you saying to email for info. Sometimes they'll make you think you're emailing a known forum member. They'll say "oh they haven't been on recently, but you can email them and they'll respond."
The email address they give you is to the scammer. So scammer will email back and say "oh, I'm totally the forum member! You can send me money and I'll get that reel to you!"
Please only interact with and do deals with known forum members, and only through private messages so you know you're talking to that person. If you're unsure, never hesitate to reach out to one of us admins so we can investigate their credibility.
