As I'm currently more of a riverine freshwater guy now, how should I employ these lines I purchased for NW beach action?

Streamer lines
Stillwater emerger slime line
Or.....??

Take a look at the Cortland Specialty Compact lines. I have been fishing the floater for years.

Leland.
I used to really like this line. They discontinued the Type 3 and the Floater. Looks like the intermediate might be next on the chopping block, Cortland website only has 350gr left.

I'm attempting to re-purpose beach lines I already have to river fishing.

Perhaps I worded my post wrong?

Brad, I've used my saltwater lines in fresh water, like Dry Falls. It was the only line I had at the time, Since we targeted fish in the 0-10 foot range in the salt, I would probably do the same in still water.

Not sure about moving water, perhaps if it was walking speed...

Don't over think it, just use it and see what you think.

Most of the lines I have currently are designed for the tip to do a 1-2" ips slow sink with the running line just below the surface. I was targeting beach saltwater coho with a weighted clouser, so as I quickly stripped in was getting a nice rise & fall action

So these lines will probably give me some application in a Stillwater setting but not great in moving water on a river the size of the Queets

Those lines will work on the Queets, big open water. I throw a single hander from the boat with 25-30’ full sink heads ranging from intermediate to T-14. You have to pay attention to your casting angle, because once it lands, your control options are limited primarily to leading / following the fly. They’re not optimal for all spots but are killer in others.

Going to try a CQS and a Airflo 40+ intermediate as a slime line with a 9' 5x leader to damsel nymph over some submerged weed beds. See which one works to the fishes liking.

Don’t know about the CQS. I use my OBS for slower moving waters ( lower Snohomish, lower Skagit, etc) it’s good, not great but it is useful if I don’t have a floater or intermediate loaded up on a reel.

Well the CQS sinks too quickly for the submerged weed beds I'm on the running line & clear head all sink at 1.5-2 ips.

Going to switch it up to the OBS this evening, hopefully a slower sink and a floating running line....

The SA GPX Hover that I posted is a floating running line and a slooow sinking head. Doesn’t say sink rate in ips but it’s less than 1.5-2”. Half size heavy. Nice line.

Wish I had one in my arsenal
