What's in your (PIZZA) oven?

It's timely that I was just yesterday having this pineapple/no pineapple discussion with a new lady friend with me of the thought that pineapple shouldn't be in the same room with a pizza and a diametrically opposing opinion coming from her. I just finished par baking some pies for pizzas to be made tonight. Needless to say there will be pineapple and Canadian bacon gracing the top of them. Figured that was the wrong mountain to die on. 😊

Congratulations on having an open mind and not being a sophomoric twit! Back when I was a kid guys were saying: "I won't eat any meat but woolly mammoth and the only poultry I'll cook with is dodo bird!" Due to the exigences of the situation those guys are eating beef and turkey now. There's a moral here...

While I'm not a big hawaiian fan its all my kiddo likes so we end up with it. Red chili flakes really helps.

Tried to make a deep dish or Detroit style pizza in my combo cooker. KA pizza dough recipe, Rao’s sauce, pepperoni and mushrooms, mozzarella. Cooked in gas oven at 500 degrees for 25 minutes, maybe could have used another 4-5 minutes but wife feels anything browned is burnt. Did not par bake the crust. 10” cast iron, perfect size for two.

man... I'm trying to be frugal but them angles on those pans are making me super jelly. Not that it'd make my pizza taste any better... but there's something so satisfying about those sharp corners.

You liked it and you know it. It's ok to admit it.
I tried to like it as it is favored by she who controls certain resources but personally I will not take another bite of a pizza that has pineapple befouling it. I understand that some enjoy it but the reason why eludes me.

They were a bit cheaper when I bought mine. I was just looking at possibly getting a grandma pizza pan and was surprised at the price. I think I'll improvise first to see if I will make these as often as the Detroit pizza before I make the investment. For me, the Detroit pan has been well worth the cost.

I agree, but with that being said, I didn’t have perfectly fine “round cornered” pans already ;) @Evan B

Gonna need the boys back...
You're lucky the Cosa Nostra doesn't read this forum....
