Waders

If you're within a reasonable distance from a good flyshop they're generally more than happy to let you try on various sizes for a good fit, and will happily assist in a rapid return if you buy or order a pair there.

Of course it's completely despicable to use a flyshop as a sizing opportunity and then purchase them online to save some coin.

As I mentioned, I tried some on. I plan to buy them, likely two pairs from my local fly shop where I tried them on.

y'all are all just anomalies! I guess just being average is finally a benefit for me!

Hey Brian and Buzzy, have you guys looked into some of the newer brands out there days, like Skwala, etc....it looks like they offer two separate foot sizing for each actual size of wader. not cheap though.

You could reach out to OS systems in Oregon and see what they can do for you. Their website hasn’t been updated in ages so if their price list is still correct that’s a fair deal for custom breathable waders at $550. They make that Streamcount line tough, at least the dry suits are.

OS made my snorkel survey drysuit, and repaired it for me lickety split when I had a misadventure in a logjam a couple years ago. I haven't checked out their waders, but their drysuits are bomber.

For waders, I'm a Simms fella. I tried others, but the "Jim's rubber pants company" (inside joke) are the ones that I've used for both work and play for the last 13 years.

I have not seen the waders either myself, but I have seen and used the stream count dry suits and agree they are well made, you can easily talk to a real person, and get something made up custom. I got the economy model dry suit many moons ago now and have learned a lot about patching it up myself, along with some hacks like using a cheap neoprene vest over the dry suit to take the abuse of all those seal slides over rocks when river snorkeling. If I buy another one it’ll be the streamcount version and buy once cry once.

I've lost some weight and need some new ones as well. Finding waders that are a 32" length for a size 12-13 foot is almost impossible. Once you get into a 32" length, the foot size is usually 9-11. The Redington Sonic Pros are what I have now.

This is why I have Patagonia waders. They are the only ones that provide an off the shelf wader that fits me and my apparently abnormally large feet.

suggestion, you may want to consider calling Simms or possibly other companies and have a pair custom made. At my age 68, I buy good waders, not most expensive, but good stuff that's not over the top expensive, but fit and work predictable for maximum comfort and mobility. And after getting measured they may have a stock size that may not be commonly carried in stores, and fits just as good as custom.
Only have so many years on this planet, might as well be comfortable. Just stay away from barbwire!
