Just to follow up. I heard from Sage. They want me to send the rod to them so they can tell me that it is broken and that they no longer repair it. They will then give me a credit of 195 towards an " equivalent" rod. Their new rods are in the $1000 range and not equivalent as they are "fast"...

I was unable to get any info from Sage beyond my rod listed as "non-repairable". The list of rods they won't repair anymore is very large. "Lifetime" warranty seems to be lifetime of a typical dog rather than a person. I have stopped buying any new Sage rods. Their crazy retail cost is...

My fishing buddy broke one of my favorite rods and Sage cannot (will not?) repair. I only need the butt section if someone has a rod with a missing tip I can make that work. Rod would need to be shipped to NH. Looking for Sage SLT 4wt. 9 ft.

I bought my son one about 5 years ago. It is a 5wt reel. I don't know what the deal is anymore, but it came at a great price ($99?) with line and backing installed. It has held up really well and still works fine. I don't have any reservations about recommending one

Allegedly, the holes in the wings make them look "ratty" and the fish key in on the bug as they can't fly with mangled wings. I have no idea if that is true, but the pattern does catch fish

This is the Damselfly video from Barry Ord Clarke that I have used for many years. The only adjustment I make to the pattern is that I use Swiss Straw for the wings and then use a hot bodkin to put holes in the wings. Allegedly, looks like a cripple, but I can't verify. It does catch fish.
