    Yakima River

Yes, I fish that stretch regularly (have some property about halfway between the bridge and the diversion). And yes, that last stretch is much bigger that before (at least at the higher water levels). The boulders on the right side are pretty gnarly, but the left side was fine. Had a buddy go...

    Yakima River

Summer is notorious for getting high numbers of small fish. You're way more likely to find bigger fish in the spring and fall, but are more subject to the whims of the flows/weather. Summer is a great time to take kids if you want to ensure they get into a few fish :)

    Yakima River

I fished on the 14th in that same stretch (Teanaway -> Thorp diversion) and the fishing was okay... I also got caught out with an over-night flow bump due to them pushing water for smolt out-migrating. I'd guess you'd have better luck with consistent flows (albeit higher flows) for the past...

Any current info on the Cle Elum river near Suncadia?

How was it?! I have a few GPS spots I like to use on the Cle Elum but its been a few years since I've checked it out.

    On your own Cabo fishing?

I've done some beach casting down in Cabo. I think Stonefish's recommendation is 100% what I would do. I was staying at a hotel that had its own beach access that I could walk but it was a similar set-up. Walk down from the beach to the jetty/rocky outcrop and cast as far as I could with...

Wanted Starter Set-up for 18 YO

From what I understand he needs to pick a focus area/skill and then spend at least 30 hrs a week dedicated to it. They have a 4 week block allocated to this where other classes are off/reduced and then he'll present some sort of senior thesis. I appreciate the other replies. The back-up...

Wanted Starter Set-up for 18 YO

Hey All! I have a friend who's kid is doing his high-school senior project on fly fishing (nice right!). He's in Albuquerque and is pretty much starting from scratch other than fly fishing 1x on a family trip. I told him I'd try to source a starter set of gear from this group so he can get...

    Tennis Elbow?

+1 for TylerTwists and TheraBand FlexBar. I'm also just starting the PBC-157 peptide treatments. Too early to tell if that will help or not.

    NFR 2025 Gardening Growing Thread

LMK how the garlic growing goes! I'm on year 3. Plants sprout and grow great all winter/spring but I continue to get very small bulbs when I go to harvest. Prob 10% actually produce cloves that would be comparable to what you get a store. Any tips would be appreciated.

NRS Approach 100 Fishing Raft vs Watermaster Kodiak

I agree with nearly everything above. IMO its basically down to, do you want to deal with a frame or not. If yes, go with the NRS. If not, the WM is great. I've folded up my WM and stuffed it in the back of my tesla model 3 before.... pretty handy when my wife needs our big car.

    2 Rods on a River

I'm in the camp of carrying 2 rods and stuffing one down my waders (front or back depending). I like to carry a 3 or 4 wt for dries and a 5 or 6 wt for nymphing/streamer fishing. For sure I tangle up from time to time but I like the speed of switching and having a lighter weight set-up for the...

    Watermaster who fishing them?

I've been using mine on the Yakima for some half-day floats. You can walk it into places without a boat launch so have more flexibility what water you can hit. I'm still working on how best to fish the high-water banks at summer flows so let me know if you have any go-to methods... Seems like...

    Yakima River

I fished below green bridge the end of last week. Few hrs late in the evening Wednesday and then afternoon Thursday. Brought a few nice bows to hand on the nymph rig. Caddis were still thick on the bushes and big swarms would get knocked into the river if you bumped anything near shore but it...
