    Wrist strap on Wading Staff?

Don't use it on mine . . . either in the holster folded, hanging free in the current, or in my hand.

    Favorite Sage Fly Rod

Agree = wish I'd hung on to a few. I sold all mine but would really like to have my Michael&Young custom 8150 back, if only because of all the memories it was a part of on the Thompson river. :(

    IP 28 Oregon

Always follow the money. IMO this doesn't have a chance because of the financial impact it would have on Oregon business. It's just a feel good exercise for the PETA folks so they can preach their message.

    High Lakes

An easy anchor for a packraft is 20' of light nylon rope and a small mesh sack. You can buy em or make em. Get to the lake and fill it with a few rocks and you're good to go! My 6lb Alpacka Llama has several anchor points that I use when the wind is blowing so I can stay oriented to the...

    North Fork of the Stilly

To prove that there's no limit to the crazy levels WDFW go to - theyTRUCK Chinook over Sunset Falls on the South Fork Skykomish and then close the river to protect them. Seems pretty clear that river fishermen are at the bottom of their priority list.

    North Fork of the Stilly

I think you answered your own question. Put some exorbitantly priced gas in your rig and head south. All the PS rivers are screwed. :(

Looking for advice on two handed beach rods for Baja

Yes, the rod in the video is a TFO. Based on the logo it's an older model, most likely one of the Pro series. They have quite a few 11' switch rods up to 8wt. Flip Pallot was a TFO ambassador for quite some time and designed several saltwater focused single hand rod series.

Old school colors for the win

You might want to consider trying something like Euronymphing line. . . basically 3wt level floating flyline (similar in diameter to spey running line) with 10 to 15' of fluoro on the end. That might make hooksetting and line management a bit easier. I like the idea of tying innovative fly...

    11' 7wt Switch

Most 7wt switch rods I've tried have responded well to lines in the 400 - 490gr range. It will depend on how long the line is and the taper. One example is the 11' 7wt TFO Deer Creek, it does really well with a 450gr Skagit line and T10 tips up to 12'. As others have mentioned, I don't...

Old school colors for the win

Damn Billy, I was just about to get the bassin' gear ready and then you go and post a report like that. Awesome stuff, it's nice when a lengthy slog gets you into some nice fish. Were you throwing that jig on a flyrod? If so, what weight was the jighead?

They have those built commercially as well - called Topperlift.

Truck campers: Looking for lightweight options that won't break the bank

I do like that Moonlander X, really nice. I have the Project M on my '24 Tundra and am still happy with it. It costs about twice as much, but it has solar panels and a charging station, a full king sized bed (slideout), a remote control fan with multiple speeds that can be set to suck air in...
