Lesson learned and thanks for letting me know they are good table far. When I first saw it the fish has a look kind of like a queen fish so I was surprised when he said I was a mackerel. The fun part was it took a surface fly and definitely a fun fish on a 8 wght.

I have fished with Marty also and recommend him also. He does combo trips and has pots out for crab so you can get plenty of groceries.

Make sure to take a form of seasickness measures as I have taken quite a few of my family members out and have been surprised the numbers of people getting green out there. You will have a great time with Rob as he will get you dialed in.

I don't know about anything further up north, not sure about dories launching up north. Cannon Beach if I'm correct is about an 1 1/2 hrs north depending if you get stuck behind a motor home😁

I don't believe Jack and John are guiding the salt anymore. I fished with them for about 7 years great guys.

I would go down to Pacific City as the the is more conducive for fly fishing. Not sure if they launch dories from the beach there. But it's not to far away, if you're heading that way send me a note and I can stear you in the right direction.

Also we fished a waker at the end of the prop wash and had quite a few fish landed with that fly. Including the mackerel which we thought we had run into tuna as we were in the backing quickly. Water temp on on Saturday was between 58 and 60 degrees.

No it’s not my boat it’s Rob with Connectoutfitters out of pacific city. It is very comfortable to fish out of, but this weekend not so much as the weather and swell were sporty. Definitely sore from getting bounced around in the boat, but definitely worth it.

Had a fun weekend and lots of rockfish and coho landed. 40% were wild and the hatchery were really nice sized.

My 4 favorites XP 4100-4,6100-4 and the Spey rods 8150-4 graphite 3, 9150-4 graphite 4. The XP’s are still in my quiver but the two handers ended being sold, I wish I would have hung onto them.

I won’t be able to make it this year. I will be in New Orleans hitting Jazzfest watching my son’s band. Also fishing Redfish for a couple days.
