May as well kick this off with a report

I fished MA11 on Tuesday with @ffb on his sweet 15' Tiderunner center console. IMO the coolest 15' boat cruising the sound right now.

Was my first time on the water in six weeks, and it was such a beautiful day to get back out there.

Fishing was terrible. I landed a single sea run cutthroat that I swear was every bit of 7", though my guide claimed it would only go 6". I did totally Babe Ruth call my shot with that fish though, so there's that. That was literally the only sign of life we saw all day. No jumpers, no followers, not even a sculpin to be seen. I was a bit surprised not to encounter a single resident coho.

It was super nice to get back out on the water after such a dry spell, and a treat to hop on someone else's boat and just relax and go along for the ride. Not having a boat to clean up at the end of the day was also a sweet bonus.

Sounds like a great day. Six weeks, that's gotta be a long break for you.

cheers

Always a pleasure!

Don't forget the pomegranate! I made the rookie guide mistake multiple times of mentioning "this stretch of beach is great I always seem to run into fish here". It really was a brutal day.

And we didn't sink your boat or truck...that right there is a success:)

I like a lot about Oregon, but I’m jealous of you guys and the Sound.

Hope things are getting better for you and yours and you are able to get out more in the coming months. I was hoping for a report or two from you this winter telling us to all chill out….the rezzies are around and will be fat and happy come July. I have not caught a single rezzie since September I think. Only a handful of blackmouth. First time that’s happened to me this time of year since I seriously started fishing the sound

I want to see some photos of the boat! Currently researching a skiff... because why not.

She's a little rough around the edges but it gets the job done! Not to mention extremely seaworthy in my last 2 years of experience so far. I didn't know much about Tiderunners before I picked this up and have found out that they can be pretty desirable and you don't see really any of their center consoles out there. It fishes 2 people just fine and the console is far enough forward that there is a lot of space for all my crap behind the bench seat. Had one person during pink season try to buy it off me out on the water lol.

I got the full first time boat owner experience with this one. Got a good deal and a ton of use out of it before things went south. Have since replaced the outboard, steering system, fuel system, and trailer since purchase 😅

If you catch a whiff of 2 stroke and see this thing out there say whats up! I might try posting an open seat here one of these days as most of the time I'm out solo and I could use some company out there.

*Edited to add that Nick's boat is way nicer, quieter, easier to fish from. Only complaint is no heated seats*

It is definitely an awesome little fishing platform. Jon is not underselling it's sea worthiness either. This thing eats up chop like nobodies business, and would put any other 15' CC that I'm aware of to shame in that oh so common 2' of Puget Sound chop.
