How to deal with dying interior boat paint?

My little 20+ year old 12ft Duroboat has interior paint that is old and dead. Wipe your hand across it and you get this:


I highly suspect it was the factory paint.

What can I do about this? Just give it a good scrub and deal with it? Sand everything down and repaint (I’m not sure I’ve got this in me)? Just deal with getting paint dust on everything?

Have you tried just rinsing it or pressure washing? I've got a ton of "crazing" on the interior of my '75 Whaler but restoring that is a project that's going to have to wait until my kids are grown up.

Just use some cutting compound and give it a good buff then apply a wax on it....

Really? Interesting. I wouldn't have ever thought about doing that.
