Bass!

While trying to catch some big trout recently planted......I slayed bass instead! Type III sink, 56 year old Phillipson glass rod and a big leech casting to shore must’ve been over 25! Lost the biggest one....of course, looked around 4 lbs. What a blast! Now I need some topwater action!

That has been my problem the last two weekends. The lake I have been fishing was recently stocked and I have caught more 12-14 inch rainbows than I care to admit. Some as bycatch targeting bass. Some because…we’ll they were there and eating flies .

Did find a few bass today. 3 takes, two “landed” (one popped off while lipping it). Here is the one I managed to get a pic of.

Hoping the action heats up with the water temps here in western WA. It took me 6 hours to get the three takes I did…less an hour or so having some fun with stockers taking emergers…
