Mostly midge emergers around here. Orange body, para loop hackle, medium sized shuck, size 16.

Are you using a floating or intermediate line for your emergers.? I need to up my game. I've been using a hares ear soft hackle with intermediate line ..maybe an orange and partridge.....?

Dry line….Sylk that is! I don’t have any intermediate lines. For me there are several local lakes that have good winter midge hatches and even in deep water they’re feeding on the surface. I haven’t found any lakes your way, but then again I only fish a few in your area, mostly with indicators.
