Honeybees are awesome. I used to be terrified of stinging insects (still hate on hornets), and my wife had hives when I first met them We wintered bees right in West Seattle for a few years and moved them out to her parent’s place in the country for the summer. It can be a lot of work, but is...
That was right when I volunteered to make a quick grocery run on my bike. One of those crosswind gusts nearly took me down, and my eyes got filled with crap from all the dust being kicked up.
I picked up a three piece Okuma SST; 7'6", Medium Heavy Action, 10-20# line wt, 3/8-1.5oz lure wt for exactly that purpose. It wasn't very expensive; probably in the $120 range, and is quite a decent rod. 'Heavy enough for PS salmon and (?) most of what you are likely to run into on Baja beaches.

Nothing too fancy about these, but they are solid, dependable, and have a strong, smooth disc drag. It's got a little wear like any properly aged reel, but is 100% functional. Set up and spooled LH currently, but the retrieve is easily reversed if desired.
$40 plus shipping, or we can meet up...
