Ugly but willing to bet effective “flash fly” style stuff for coho. Something to throw when the herring guys are crushing it and fly guys are struggling. Eating an oozing, oily, sardine sandwich right before tying one of these on might help as well :).

Also, plan on putting in 3-4 hours early tomorrow before work, so a few glow in the dark stinger clousers…

It’s all about the substrate; the dubbing was a piece of white rabbit and took on a nice pinkish-orange color while the hackle and partridge showed very little of the pink.

Would this work? From a WFF member who has great tying skills:

I'd fish that in a heart beat. Not sure if the squid last year worked due to being mostly white, or the size/profile. That fly will have better movement for sure. Maybe tie a few in paler colors?

Heading to the beach for a few days. Surf fishing will be a good warm up for tuna.

Havent tied in almost a year. Not my best work but these should fish. Mole crabs are a bitch to tie a decent imitation.

You can knit pick all you want on those mole crabs but an all orange wooly bugger tied to ride hook up (or checkerboard as one guy from SoCal calls it) will clean house. Those look freakin' phenomenal though.
