Spent last week in North Carolina visiting my wife's cousin. We planned to spend a couple of days in Blowing Rock to see the mountain views/sights. After doing a little internet recon, I found a little river flowing out of the mountains near by that looked to have some precious metal
so I packed a travel rod just incase I was able to break away. We'll I managed to talk the squad into dropping me off at a public park for the morning on their way to see some local sites. Rigged up a small stone and flash back and went to work on a NC slam. The fish were playful, plentiful and beautiful. First cast struck gold and lost count by the first half hour. 4hrs of pure joy ensued. Spent the rest of the day at a English pub with a shit eating grin from ear to ear.
