8/0 bead on sz. 14 1150, 1550, 5045. I've seen a lot of stuff I like in this and other threads, but these just look weird to me. Got to get something tied, used my last TDC's last summer.

hook - Dai Riki 135 #8
thread - Uni 8/0 camel
eyes - 3mm bead chain hot orange
tail - marabou dyed gold (1 Tbs Rit Marigold/1 cup water)
rib - small wire gold
abdomen - Swiss Straw tan
thorax- Ice Dub golden brown

If the stillwater’s are still frozen, I can always hope for a couple 60 degree days with light winds (April in central Montana? Good luck with that!) so I can go carping.

Really diggin' the carp stuff you've been posting lately, Scott. I need to diversify my carp box (you know, so that I can still fish the same damn fly anyway... )

tied up a few of these types of stones....they've been pretty deadly over the years and various iterations I've tied of them. Just a lot of moving parts and the overall bugginess of it...much like many of the flies I tie, mostly generalist.

Those are killer, what is the body material?
the back end is mottled mop chenille material from Hareline (cut to length, then take a lighter to the end to make sure things don't fall apart after a few fish), the body on the shank is just med chenille of similar color scheme wrapped to the same width as the back end.
