And yeah, feel naked and exposed without at least the multi tool and a light.

I get a lot of hangnails that occur almost randomly. I learned that it's better to clip them off than to bite or tear them off. Ergo, clippers have lived on my key chain for decades.
That would probably be better than my method of clippers in each car, first aid kits, and all of my guitar (+ banjo & mandolin) cases
.*Adding* my wife keeps a good (sharp) pair of fingernail-cuticle pliers with angled jaws in the bathroom that are MUCH better than most clippers for hangnails.

I agree about the theft potential, but it's all inventoried and insured and when I started stocking my vehicle the number of days I was fishing tripled. Being able to go fishing in the time it takes to walk to/park the car is worth it. It slowed down my roadtrips a lot and even made short errands like picking something up from @the_chemist 's house into fishing trips. But to me that's all to the good.
